ELRAVIE Re20 in Penang | CANVAS Medical Clinic
The scaffold itself, not a substitute for it — physician-administered at Gurney Walk, George Town. ELRAVIE Re20 is an extracellular matrix booster that supplies collagen, elastin and proteoglycans directly to skin that has thinned.
What is ELRAVIE Re20?
ELRAVIE Re20 is an ECM skin booster from Humedix in Korea, introduced in 2024. ECM stands for extracellular matrix — the scaffold that sits between your skin cells, made of collagens, elastin, proteoglycans and hyaluronic acid. It is the architecture that decides how firm, elastic and resilient skin feels, and it is what degrades as skin ages, thins and loses its bounce.
Re20 is a micronised human acellular dermal matrix, or hADM. Donated human dermal tissue is processed — Humedix uses a proprietary method it calls AlloClean — to remove cells, lipids and antigenic material while leaving the three-dimensional matrix intact. What is injected is the scaffold itself rather than a gel that mimics it, which is what separates this category from the skinboosters and biostimulators that came before it.
How it works
- Consultation and assessment. A physician examines your skin, takes a full history, and explains plainly that the product is derived from donated human tissue so your consent is properly informed.
- Mapping the areas. Treatment is planned to where the matrix has thinned — commonly the face, neck and décolletage — rather than applied uniformly.
- Micro-injection. The matrix is placed into the dermis with a fine needle or cannula, with topical anaesthetic where appropriate.
- Course and maintenance. Typically a short course spaced a few weeks apart, then periodic maintenance, with review so the plan follows your response.
Benefits

Delivers matrix components rather than only prompting them.
Structure, not volume
Aimed at firmness and resilience, not projection.
Matches skin's own make-up
Collagen, elastin and proteoglycans, as skin builds them.
Suits thin, crepey skin
An option where volumising would look wrong.
Little downtime
Injection marks and mild swelling for a few days at most.
Physician-administered
Every injectable at CANVAS is given by a qualified doctor.
Who it's for
ELRAVIE Re20 may suit you if you:
- Have skin that has thinned, slackened or lost its resilience
- Want skin quality and structure rather than added volume
- Have found hydrating skinboosters helpful but not lasting enough
- Are willing to complete a short course and maintain it
- Want the product's origin explained before you decide
- Prefer a physician to tell you honestly if something else fits better
ELRAVIE Re20 is not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or inflammation in the treatment area, or where a relevant allergy or sensitivity exists. Because it is derived from donated human tissue, some patients have religious or personal considerations about it — raise this at consultation and we will discuss alternatives openly, with no pressure either way. Results differ between individuals, and suitability is always confirmed at consultation.
ECM, collagen and skinboosters compared
These three get conflated constantly, so it is worth separating them. An ECM booster such as Re20, Adité or Essalia supplies matrix material directly. A collagen injectable such as Linerase, Collaju or Deusaderm places collagen specifically. A hyaluronic acid skinbooster such as Profhilo or Restylane Skinboosters mainly holds water, hydrating and plumping.
A fourth route, polynucleotides, signals the skin to repair itself rather than supplying material at all. None of these is simply better than the others — they do different jobs, and if what you actually want is contour, that is a dermal filler conversation instead.
